The Gen-Z Stare & Other Mysteries of Library Instruction

Library instruction should be engaging, fun, and informative, but it doesn’t always feel that way for the students or for the librarian. As a result of technology, COVID, and different expectations of socialization, interactions in the classroom have changed in both positive and challenging ways. As students change, library instruction has to adapt to better meet the students of today where they are. 

The goal of this webinar is to reflect on the ways in which students, particularly in community colleges, are changing and the way in which to better engage with these students in interactive and meaningful ways, both for the students and for the librarian.

Presenter: Morgan Pruitt is the Outreach and Assessment Librarian at Central Carolina Community College. She has experience teaching college students in the writing classroom and in the library.
